The South African Schools Football Association (SASFA) came into being after the demise of the multi coded umbrella body United School Sport Association of South Africa (USSASA); as a result of the Ministerial Task Team on Sport that shaped the creation of SASCOC and the Department of Sport.

SASFA as an affiliate of SAFA has the responsibility of coordinating and controlling school football in the country. SASFA stands for values in education through sport; It is tasked with the responsibility of entrenching the beautiful game in the minds and hearts of the youth of South Africa as champions of youth development.

SASFA is a very significant for the footballing community in general and school sport in particular as we officially proclaim the existence of South African School Football Association; a vehicle for progress, development and excellence.

Schools are the centres of community development and play a pivotal role in creating a healthy nation and in giving direction to the young of our country. A strong school sport culture means a strong winning nation in all the teams across sports types and it is this conviction that propels us to continue volunteering in the service of our country.

The core business of SASFA is the running of sound football programs that encompass the holistic development of the child through a deliberate systematic engagement of stakeholders who share the same vision of creating opportunities for the learners and educators.
