Wednesday the 20th April 2016 brought sad news to the Football Family at large and to SA Schools Football Association when we learned that our friend, brother and coach Njomane Elvis Mhlongo is no more.
Painful as it is we are left with no choice but to release you as you came into an agreement with your God that it was time that you retire from this rat race of life. A fine human being, soft spoken and very knowledgeable in the beautiful game. With you by our side, we have touched millions of youngsters and you helped Identify, nurture, develop and point them into the correct path of a holistic development of a human being. It is through your God given eye and talent that you spotted a many a talented youth.
To us Elvis is synonymous with DEVELOPMENT. Our structures are left bleeding because your boots are too big to fill since you worked tirelessly, effortlessly & selflessly. You leave us with indelible memories of you all hands in the deck as we promote healthy lifestyles through the medium of sport.
To the Mhlongo family, kindly receive herewith our deepest sympathy and condolences as we lay to rest this giant the son of the soil. Like Jesus Christ he comes from a small area yet the impact he made is felt all over our country. SA Schools Football Family shares your loss, your pain but let us celebrate a life well lived.
May the son of Njomane, ka Bhebhe ka Makhedama rest in peace till we meet again…
