On Saturday, 20th August, young footballers from the North West Province and Gauteng will compete for the top of the log at the McDonald’s U/14 Schools League provincials. The tournament will be held at the Alabama Stadium, Klerksdorp from 8am to 5pm.    Now in its 7th year and a new format, the McDonald’s U/14’s schools league soccer festivals are now structured so that provincial teams travel to a selected host provinces to play their finals. Daniye Higher Primary School from Mpumalanga province lifted the McDonald’s U/14 Schools League trophy with excitement when they were crowned the 2015 champions at Alexandra Stadium, Gauteng on Wednesday, 30 September 2015. The past weekend was very rainy as spring time hits South Africa but the show had to go on as the McDonald’s U/14 Schools League Tournament took place in Sasolburg.   The McDonald’s U/14 Schools League Free State Provincial Finals saw five regions of the Free State province clash together. This was to decide which school would represent Free State at the National Finals in Gauteng on September 28.   Bodikela emerged as the provincial champions after beating Nkgopoleng in the finals by a goal to none.
